Get together again with your friends from Ames High days and also make connections with classmates that you didn’t know so well then but with whom you may have much in common now. Come and share who you have become and your plans for the future. Your classmates look forward to seeing you and having you add your special personality to the mix!
The reunion will start informally on the evening of Tuesday, 9/22/2026 and continue with events through the morning of Friday, 9/25/2026. We will send more details later but here’s the overview:
Tuesday evening – informal gathering for early arrivals at the Gateway Hotel Harvest Room for dinner/beverages
Wednesday lunch — informal gathering at a selected restaurant in Ames
Wednesday afternoon — guided tour of the new Ames High School (time TBD)
Wednesday evening – our first major “mix and mingle” at the Elks Lodge in downtown Ames for food and beverages
Thursday morning — guided tour of the newly expanded Ames History Museum, followed by a short walking tour of downtown Ames
Thursday lunch – informal* gathering at a selected restaurant in downtown Ames
Thursday evening – our “big event” for all reunion attendees at the Gateway Garden Room for dinner and beverages
Friday brunch – informal gathering at the Gateway; last chance to get together before departing for home!
NOTE: “informal” denotes that each person would have their own tab for food/beverages.
We are hoping to have over 100 classmates (of the 360 in our graduating class) come to the 60th reunion, in addition to the spouses, partners, special friends and family that you bring.
WE’RE A LITTLE OLDER THAN WE USED TO BE BUT WE’RE NOT TOO OLD TO HAVE FUN. PLEASE COME AND JOIN IN THE FESTIVITIES!
PS – Contact us if you have any questions about the reunion. Also, if you need contact information for a classmate that you’d like to see at the reunion, we may be able to provide it to you. A personal message from you might motivate a hesitant classmate to attend the reunion.
PPS – If you would like to attend the 60th reunion but have concerns about the costs of attending, please contact us. We want everyone to be able to attend if possible.
PPPS – Hotel Availability: Please check the enclosed list of hotels with whom we have arranged blocks of rooms for our reunion. They are all in relatively close proximity to our Thursday evening gathering at the Gateway Hotel.
