The Bill Ripp & Ripp Family Scholarship

Our 50th Reunion Class Gift helped to establish a scholarship in honor of long-time district staff member, Bill Ripp. Bill served the Ames School District from 1960 - 1995. Some of us had him for Latin and English before he became a counselor and administrator.

The scholarship will be a lasting legacy honoring an outstanding teacher while supporting second-generation Ames High students as they pursue their goals in higher education. We all know that college costs have risen dramatically since we attended back in the early 1970s. We hope to raise $28,000 dollars to add to Bill’s own ~$12,000. This amount could enable a $2,000 annual award. Let’s see if we can make this happen!

Gifts to the Bill Ripp Scholarship will be handled by the Ames Education Foundation.

Donation form and information are available here!

At the reunion, the Creativity Expo showcased the talents of our classmates.
